What is the difference between debtor and creditor representation?

In restructuring situations, advisors can represent either side:

  • Debtor representation — Advising the company (borrower) that is facing financial distress, helping them negotiate with creditors and find a path to recovery
  • Creditor representation — Advising lenders, bondholders, or other creditors to protect and maximize their recovery

Kreshmore Group’s dual-sided perspective — having represented both creditors and debtors — enables us to anticipate competing interests, build consensus, and deliver balanced outcomes.
